Daily Dow Jones Shows Possible Signs Of Reversal With The Formation Of Long Legged Doji Candle, 02-08-2011

Wall Street Recap: Dow Jones ends -10 points after a roller coaster ride

The Dow Jones finished Monday’s roller-coaster session with a -10 points loss, its 7th consecutive losses, after fluctuating within +140 points and -145 points intraday.

The Dow Jones surged as much as 140 points, after the Obama administration and congressional leaders announced late Sunday they’d reached a compromise to raise the U.S. debt ceiling and cut spending. But doubts over Congress’s ability to pass the contentious legislation, coupled with worries over a possible downgrade to the U.S. credit rating and a surprisingly weak July ISM manufacturing report of 50.9% (consensus: 54.3%) sent the Dow Jones tumbling to as much as 145 points.
